Virginia Beach, Va. – A woman was issued a summons after her two dogs were left alone in a vehicle at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, police tell NewsChannel 3.

On Monday, May 25, 2015 at approximately 10:00 a.m., Animal Control officers responded to an animal cruelty complaint of two dogs left in an unattended vehicle in a parking lot near 9th Street and Pacific Avenue.

The Animal Control Officer located a minivan with two dogs inside, panting heavily and in distress; the temperature had reached 105 degrees in parts of the vehicle, according to police.

The dogs were removed and the officer was able to make contact with the owner, who returned to the vehicle. The owner, Ashley E. Angulo, was issued a summons for inadequate care, and her dogs were returned to her at the conclusion of the case, police say.
