Three arrested after crash following attempted traffic stop in Virginia Beach

Virginia Beach, Va. – Three men are in custody after their car crashed following an attempted traffic stop in Virginia Beach Tuesday night.

The incident started as a traffic stop near Birdneck and 24th street at approximately 10:20 p.m. when an officer attempted to stop a vehicle for an expired tag.

The vehicle stopped but then took off. The officer did not pursue,  but found the vehicle crashed at Birdneck and 264. Three men ran from the vehicle and officers set up a perimeter and took one of the men into custody with the assistance of a K-9 dog.

That man received a minor injury, according to police.

The other two men were arrested by 12:33 a.m.

Two of the men had outstanding warrants on file the third was charged with eluding, driving on a suspended license and displaying fake tags.
