Wanchese man charged in stabbing

Wanchese, N.C.  – A Wanchese man has been charged in a stabbing that sent a man to the hospital Thursday night.

Dare County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a call about the stabbing around 10:11 pm at 4142 Mill Landing Rd.

The victim was able to identify a suspect, whom he knew, for deputies.   The Nags Head Police Department used their K-9 to search for the man without success.

The victim was transported to the Outer Banks Hospital with approximately five stab wounds to the chest and neck area.  He was then transported to Sentara Norfolk General where he was treated and released on June 5th.

At approximately 5:41am 33-year-old Dustin William Abbot was located and arrested near the Wanchese Marina and taken to Dare County Detention Center.

Abbott was charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon with the Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury (Felony)

He is being held in lieu of a $100,000 secured bond.
