Man shot outside of Elizabeth City fast food restaurant

Elizabeth City, N.C. – Shots were fired after four men began fighting outside of the fast food restaurant  CookOut on West Ehringhaus Street in Elizabeth City early Saturday morning.

Police are looking for Deroca Moshun Johnson, 36, of the 100 block of Parkers Lane, Elizabeth City, and Lavelle Sinclair Dinkins, 19, of the 300 block of Queen Street, Elizabeth City.

At approximately 2:22 a.m., officers responded to a fight between four black males, two of which ran away from the scene. The two men ran around the corner and behind the building.

Witnesses reported hearing four gunshots from the other side of the building, followed by four additional gunshots.

The other two males fled the scene in a green colored newer-model Chevrolet SUV. Shortly after the victim of the attack was seen walking in the grassy area of the Cookout property where he laid down by the bushes, and was tended to by patrons until police and EMS arrived.

The alleged shooter is described as a black male wearing a long sleeve dark shirt and tan shorts.

At this time the victim is listed as being in fair condition with non-life threatening injuries.
