Man arrested in connection to armed robbery at Hampton 7-Eleven

UPDATE: Hampton Police have arrested 49-year-old Anthony Antonio Walker in connection to this robbery. He was arrested June 30th and has been charged with one count of Robbery, one count of Use of a Firearm, and one count of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. He remains in custody at the Hampton City Jail. 

Hampton, Va. – Hampton police are searching for a suspect wanted for the armed robbery of a 7-Eleven store, police tell NewsChannel 3.

It happened on June 26, 2015. At 12:24 a.m., Hampton Police responded to the 7-Eleven store located in the 1700 block of West Pembroke Avenue in reference to a robbery from business complaint.

The investigation revealed that the suspect entered the business; displayed a firearm, and demanded money. After receiving money and cigarettes, the suspect ran away from the business towards Shell Road. There were no injuries as a result of this offense, police say.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5’7, 210 pounds, last seen wearing a light blue shirt, light blue sweat pants, and a dark blue baseball cap.

If anyone saw these individuals fleeing the area and can help investigators determine where they went after fleeing the business, they are urged to contact the Hampton Police Division at 727-6111 or the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.

Tipsters can also send an anonymous tip via text message to the Crime Line by texting “HAMPTONPDTIPS plus your tip” to 274637 (CRIMES). Crime Line callers remain anonymous and never appear in court. If a Crime Line call results in an arrest, the caller is eligible for a reward up to $1,000.
