Slow-moving thunderstorms Friday afternoon and evening dumped 2-3 inches of rain in Elizabeth City. With the ground already saturated, the rainfall couldn’t soak in, leaving some roads, like Eringhaus Street, nearly impassable. Folks in Hertford, Edenton, Corapeake and Fronklin also saw several inches of rain.
