Norfolk, Va. – Norfolk firefighters fought more than just a fire Sunday morning, they fought to save the lives of two kittens.
Fire crews responded to a mobile home fire with smoke spewing from the structure at Smitty’s Mobile Home Park around 11:20 a.m. Sunday morning.
During their routine search of the home, they rescued two kittens. An adult female evacuated the home before crews arrived.
According to Norfolk Fire Officials, they located a small fire inside the living room of the home that they quickly extinguished. The mobile home sustained some fire and smoke damage throughout the structure.
The fire is under investigation by a Norfolk Fire Marshal.
