Virginia Beach City Manager Jim Spore retiring

Virginia Beach, Va. – Longtime Virginia Beach City Manager James K. Spore will be stepping down at the end of the year.

He made the announcement during a work session with city council on Tuesday.

He’s been the city manager in Virginia Beach since November of 1991.

According to Mayor Will Sessoms, Spore is retiring effective January 1, 2016.

Spore has previously served as city manager in Garland, Texas and Burnsville, Minnesota.
