Chesapeake, Va. – Students from across the country will participate in local service projects this week. They are working on a variety of assignments such as painting houses and putting siding on homes.

248 students from 13 churches are currently taking action in Chesapeake and other areas of south Hampton Roads. These students come from Alabama, North Carolina, Virginia, and Maryland. They are divided into 22 crews that are working at 26 worksites.

World Changers is an initiative of LifeWay Christian Resources. This is its 25th summer of partnering with cities to serve their residents. It is working in partnership with the City of Chesapeake, Bridge Network of Churches, and other independent congregations in the Chesapeake area.

“World Changers brings great benefits into a city partnership. By providing free labor, a city has more resources available to their citizens. Cities that partner with World Changers also give students a practical way to serve others,” says Dave MacNeill, team leader for the initiative.
