Workers put in freezer in Newport News pizza restaurant robbery

Newport News — Two employees were put in the freezer during a pizza restaurant robbery shortly after midnight on Sunday.

Police say that two armed, unknown black males entered the Domino’s at 12538 Warwick Boulevard and demanded money. Two employees were in the restaurant during the robbery, a 26-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman.

During the robbery, one of the suspects struck the male employee with his weapon.  Both employees were put in the freezer and the suspects fled the business with an undisclosed amount of money.

The male employee was treated at the scene by medics.

Both suspects were wearing dark clothing.

Robbery detectives will be looking to see if this robbery is related to any past robberies.
