Man arrested for assaulting officer, kicking ambulance in Suffolk

Suffolk, Va. – A 27-year-old man was arrested Wednesday for allegedly assaulting a police officer, according to Suffolk Police.

Officers responded to a home in the 1000 block of Davis Boulevard in reference to a wanted person.

When officers made contact with the man, 27-year-old Gerald Jerome Copeland, he became verbally and physically combative. He also kicked a nearby ambulance.

Copeland was arrested on charges of Assaulting a Police Officer, Disorderly Conduct and Obstructing Justice.
