Suffolk, Va. – Crews responded to a residential structure fire that temporarily shut down a road in the Burnett’s Mill neighborhood Sunday afternoon.

Around 3:00 p.m. in the 100 block of Timberneck Arch, a single story residence had heavy smoke spewing from the back of the home through the attic. The home sustained significant damage, and a neighboring residence also had minor heat damage to its exterior.

There were no injuries. The residents, one adult and two juveniles, evacuated before crews arrived.

The cause is undetermined. The Suffolk Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
