Elizabeth City, NC – A man is recovering after he was shot in the rear end in Elizabeth City on Wednesday.
Police say the victim is 26-year-old Nikequan Scott. He was treated and released.
The shooting occurred in the Highland Avenue and Massachusetts area. Police say when they arrived, they found shell casings in the street on Highland Avenue.
While police were on the scene, they were told a gunshot victim was in the emergency room.
Other police officers went to the ER to investigate.
Residents in the area say they heard several gunshots, around 6-7, but no one actually saw the shooting.
A home was also hit by a bullet on Massachusetts Avenue.
