Patrick Rockey’s Live VIPIR Forecast

The first week of August is going to feel like, well, the first week of August. That means it is going to be hot and muggy with an occasional thunderstorm.

We’ll start your work week with partly cloudy skies in the morning and a few more afternoon clouds. A few storms may pop up in the afternoon, but most of us will stay dry. Expect highs in the low-to-mid 90s with heat index values of 95 to 100.

The forecast is much the same through most of the work week: highs in the 90s with a 25-30% chance for showers and storms. But we finally see a pattern change by Friday. A cold front will finally sweep through, pushing the mercury back down into the low-to-mid 80s. Showers and storms are possible on Friday and likely on Saturday. Some wet weather may even stick around for next Sunday.
