Norfolk, Va. – Police have now arrested the man they say killed a 22-year-old in Norfolk after a dispute.

Police say Richard W. Owens was gunned down in the 900 block of Bagnall Road around 4:30 a.m. Medics pronounced him dead on scene.

There was a report of a second shooting in the 800 block of E. Olney Road fifteen minutes later around 4:45 a.m. The male victim, later identified as Al’Jae R. Walton, was transported to Sentara Norfolk General where he was listed in critical condition.

Police now have discovered the two shootings are related and arrested 19-year-old Walton.

They say Owens and Walton shot each other after an earlier altercation on Bagnell. Walton left the area but he collapsed just blocks away from the scene.

Walton was released from the hospital and charged with second degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

He is now in the Norfolk City Jail with no bond.
