Portsmouth, Va. – Portsmouth Police say they are investigating the death of a man who died shortly after arriving at Maryview Medical Center with a gunshot wound on Sunday afternoon.
Dispatchers were notified by the hospital around 12:30 p.m. that a man had entered the emergency room suffering from a gunshot wound.
Shortly after arriving, the victim, identified as 24-year-old Demetrius White of Chesapeake, died as a result of his injuries.
Detectives say they do not know where White was shot but are continuing to investigate.
