Suffolk, Virginia – A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection to a shooting that sent two people to the hospital early Monday.

Police say dispatchers received a call for a shooting around 12:30am Monday on Brookwood Drive in the College Square neighborhood.

When officers arrived, they did not find any victims or a suspect.

However, a person of interest was found a short distance away with two guns and taken into custody.

A man with a gunshot wound arrived at Sentara Belle Harbor Hospital around 1:40am. A second man later showed up at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital around 4:00am with a gunshot wound as well.

Both men were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Police have now said that 20-year-old Anthony Winfield has been arrested on charges of Reckless Handling of a Firearm and Shooting in the Street.

The investigation is currently ongoing and no additional information is available at this time.
