Cars damaged during gunfire exchange in Virginia Beach

Virginia Beach, Va. – Several cars were damaged when two people exchanged gunfire Tuesday night near Baker Road in Virginia Beach. The two people involved are still at large.

Police were first called to the 5500 block of Baccalaureate Drive around 7:51 p.m. after hearing reports of shots fired. When police arrived, no victims were found and the scene was cleared.

About 45 minutes later, around 8:45 p.m., police were called to Weblin Place Apartments with reports that a person had been shot. The apartment complex is located just a street over from the previous report.

At that scene, officers found a person who was originally believed to have been shot. However, it was later determined that the person had fell on broken glass and been cut.

At approximately 9:30 p.m., police received reports of shots fired in the 800 block of Baker Road. That location is just outside of the two neighborhoods where the previous reports were.

When officers arrived, they found two vehicles that had been damaged by gunshots. No one was injured during the shooting.

An investigation revealed two men had exchanged gunfire with each other near the 7-Eleven at 814 Baker Road.

The first man is described as a black male, 25-30 years-old, approximately 5’8” to 5’10” tall, approximately 180 pounds. He was wearing a dark shirt and sweat shorts with white shoes.

The second man is described as a light complexioned black male, 25-30 years-old, approximately 6’3” tall, 200 pounds, with corn-row styled hair. He was wearing a white shirt.
