Chesapeake, Va. – A busy night turned into an even busier morning for Chesapeake Police but thanks to two men who took action Saturday it made their job a little easier.

Peter Jackson, 44, of the 4400 block of Clifton Street in Suffolk walked into the 7-11 located in the 800 block of Canal Drive around 8:00 a.m. demanding money. Witnesses say he was wearing a mask and armed with a box cutter when he went behind the counter where two clerks were standing. After he retrieved the cash drawer he fled on foot.

That’s when two adult male customers inside the store took action and chased after Jackson, tackling him a short time after outside of the store. During the struggle one of the men, 52, was cut in the chest by Jackson. He was transported to Chesapeake Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

When Police arrived they apprehended Jackson and charged him with Malicious Wounding, two counts of Robbery, two counts of Abduction, and Wearing a Mask. He is being held at the Chesapeake City Jail.
