Crews quickly extinguish fire in Virginia Beach apartment building

Virginia Beach, Va. - Fire crews were able to quickly extinguish a fire that broke out Friday morning in a Virginia Beach apartment building.

According to Virginia Beach Fire Department Battalion Chief Billy Reynolds, units arrived on scene at the two-story apartment building at the Lake Bradford Apartments on Pleasure House Court to find smoke showing from the roof.

The fire was under control within 20 minutes and did not spread to the neighboring buildings.

The building was under renovation at the time of the fire and no one was living inside, Reynolds said.

The fire was deemed accidental in nature due to an electrical problem that originated between the panel box and the meter base.
