Norfolk, Va. - A 35-year-old man who was already serving a sentence on weekends for eluding police, was arrested after leading Norfolk Police officers on a chase Friday morning.

Just before 10:30 a.m., an officer attempted to pull over a vehicle for a traffic violation at the intersection of 26th Street and Colonial Avenue.

The driver of the white Infiniti, later identified as 35-year-old Dominique Matthews, refused to stop and a pursuit was initiated.

During the pursuit, another Norfolk Police officer responding to assist was involved in a crash.

The chase eventually came to an end at the intersection of Robin Hood Road and Sewells Point Road.

Matthews now faces several charges to include Felony Eluding and Endangerment, Driving on a Suspended License 11th Offense, and no Inspection Sticker.

Matthews was arrested and charged last August for eluding police. In March, he was sentenced to serve a 6-month sentence on weekends.
