Patrick’s forecast: A few storms, then pretty pleasant

and last updated

A slow-moving cold front will spark a few showers and storms this evening and again on Tuesday. But once the front clears the area, we're in for some pretty nice late-August weather.

After a steamy Monday afternoon, a few of us (25%) may see a cooling thunderstorm this evening and overnight. Most of us won't.

We'll start your Tuesday with a mix of clouds and sun and temperatures in the lower 70s. A stray shower or storm is not out of the question. But it looks like we have a better bet for wet weather in the afternoon as our cold front finally crosses the region. Expect highs on Tuesday in the mid -to-upper 80s.

Behind that cold front, we'll enjoy some dry and pleasant weather. Expect partly cloudy skies through the rest of the work week, with highs in the mid 80s. Lower humidity values will make it feel awfully nice.

And it looks like the pleasant weather will stick around for the weekend. We're forecasting partly cloudy skies with highs in the mid 80s on Saturday and Sunday.
