Newport News, Va. – Newport News Police are looking for two people who reportedly robbed a 20-year-old man at gunpoint on Wednesday afternoon.
Police say they arrived in the 500 block of Candle Lane around 1:50 p.m. in reference to a robbery from a person.
The 20-year-old victim told police he was approached by two men who then threw him against a wall, pulled out a gun, assaulted him and robbed him.
The men took a Samsung cell phone and a gold chain from the victim. The chain was later found by officers and returned to the victim.
The suspects ran away on foot. They’re described as black males — one was approximately 5’9” wearing a red button-down jersey, and the second was approximately 5’7” and wearing a white graphic t-shirt.
The investigation is ongoing.
