Newport News, Va. – Two gunshot victims arrived at a Newport News hospital on their own Wednesday night.
Police received a call a little after 10 p.m. about gunshots in the area of the 400 block of Catina Way. When officers arrived, no victims were located. They did, however, find several shell casings in the parking lot and one vehicle that had been damaged by gunfire.
A short time later, communications received a call about two gunshot victims that had walked into a local hospital. The victim’s — a 23-year-old man and a 21-year-old man injuries suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Preliminary information is that the victims were hanging out in the 400 block of Catina Way when a vehicle pulled up to them.
There was a short conversation between the victims and the person or people in the vehicle, followed by gunfire, according to police. Police say there was also information about a third victim but no victim was located.
