Newport News, Va. – A vehicle was destroyed after it was engulfed in flames on Thursday afternoon in Newport News.
This occurred in the Town Center Parking Garage on Fountain Way in the Oyster point section.
Fire crews arrived and found the vehicle on the ramp leading up to the second floor parking deck.
It took crews about 17 minutes to put the fire out.
Smoke filled the second and third floor parking decks. One Life Fitness nearby was evacuated as crews blocked off the area.
Two other vehicles near the one on fire were also damaged.
No one was injured.
