Accomack County, Va. – A 71-year-old Accomack County resident was found dead in his home Wednesday night, and authorities believe a car was stolen from the scene.
The Accomack County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a person shot at a residence on Cooper Lane near Accomac at 7:51pm. Deputies found Fred Douglas Shrieves dead inside of his home.
On September 4, the sheriff’s office received a tip that helped find the 1999 Chevrolet Lumina that was believed to be stolen during the homicide.
The investigation is ongoing and an autopsy is scheduled for September 3rd at the Medical Examiner’s Office in Norfolk.
