Posted

This weekend, I am on the first thing smokin’ out of town. But if you’re stuck here, I’ve got your back!

There are thousands of things going on this weekend, but here are a few that made the list…

Humana Rock ‘n’ Roll Virginia Beach Half Marathon
I have always told myself that one day I’ll run a marathon and while this weekend won’t be that day, it doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy it. Join more than 15,000 runners from all 50 states and over 15 countries at the Oceanfront this weekend for the 15th Annual Humana Rock ‘n’ Roll Virginia Beach Half Marathon.  The On the Sand mile run will take place Saturday with the half marathon Sunday morning. The race will feature live bands interspersed with fanfare and entertainment along every mile of the route, and nine-time Grammy Award winner Sheryl Crow will hit the stage Sunday night. Also, there will be a FREE (our favorite word!!) Health & Fitness Expo all weekend. For more information, contact Deborah DeMarco at 757-739-6760, or Dan Cruz at 619-925-7671. So, while I won’t be there…rock out for me!!

Labor of Love Blood Drive
WTKR has teamed up with the American Red Cross to generate a Labor of Love this holiday weekend. We have setup several donation sites across Hampton Roads: Greenbrier Mall, Chesapeake Square Mall, Patrick Henry Mall and Pembroke Mall. Everyone who donates receives a FREE t-shirt and the satisfaction of knowing you have helped saved someone’s life. So, Take Action and help the American Red Cross & NewsChannel 3 Get Results for those in need.
