Norfolk, Va. - A Norfolk police officer was hospitalized Monday morning with minor injuries after a single vehicle crash.
Shortly after 9:00 am the was flagged down by a person in the 4100 block of Colley Ave about a possible stolen vehicle.
As the officer was searching the area for the vehicle, he drove into the parking lot at 4107 Colley Ave and struck a concrete barrier, which he did not see, with his marked patrol car.
The officer suffered minor injuries and was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment.
There were no other vehicles or people involved in the crash and the patrol car received minor damage.
The suspected stolen vehicle was not located.
