WACO, Texas — A Texas woman is facing charges after officers found a loaded pistol in her vagina during a traffic stop, according to police press release.

Around 11 p.m. Monday, Waco Police stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. During the stop, officers discovered the driver of the vehicle, Gabriel Garcia, 30, had 2.7 grams of methamphetamine under his seat.

Officers also found 29.5 grams of meth in the purse of a female passenger, Ashley Cecilia Castaneda, 31.

While Castaneda was being transported to jail on drug charges, she told an officer she had a gun in her vagina.  A female officer searched the suspect and found a loaded Smith and Wesson .22-caliber pistol inside the suspect’s vagina.

“It was a safety concern for the victim who had a loaded firearm inside her body,” Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton told the Waco Tribune-Herald. “Depending on a number of factors, that gun could have gone off by body movements or compression of the trigger.

Castaneda was also charged with unlawfully carrying a weapon.
