Virginia Beach, Va. - Nearly $12,000 worth of furniture and other household items have been stolen from a 68-year-old woman's home.

According to a Virginia Beach Police incident report, a man's diamond ring, dishes, bowls, pots and pans, a dresser with mirror, a leather sofa, an extra large freezer, a 6-foot wooden wardrobe, a water cooler and a 50-inch television was taken from the home. The items were reportedly taken sometime between August 7th and September 9th.

No one was at the home on Thursday. Cara Crepsac lives across the street from the home and told Newschannel 3 that she hasn't seen any kind of suspicious activity at the home or in her neighborhood in general.

"This is a very safe neighborhood," said Crepsac. "We have a lot of town homes, owners and renters and I've always felt very safe I have never had any issues here."

After hearing that one of her neighbor's possessions were stolen she is looking at her neighborhood a little more closely.

"I will definitely be keeping my guard up a little bit more knowing that," explained Crepsac.
