Isle of Wight County, Va. – A woman is facing several charges after police say she drove away from police as they were trying to stop her on Route 460.
At 3:15 p.m., deputies tried to pull over a woman who they say was speeding eastbound on Route 460.
The vehicle stopped east of Windsor, but just as police were trying to approach the vehicle, the woman inside drove away.
Deputies did not pursue due to the speeds involved.
The vehicle then merged westbound and hit a tractor trailer.
The woman behind the wheel was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. She was then charged with DUI and eluding and evading.
No other details have been released.
