Suffolk, Va. – Suffolk Police and Suffolk Fire & Rescue personnel put out a car fire on Route 58 eastbound at the VDOT Weigh Station Monday evening. Emergency Dispatch received a call at 7:37 p.m. notifying them of the fire.
The 4-door Oldsmobile sedan was fully engulfed when police and fire crews arrived. The driver was able to pull the vehicle to the side of the road before escaping the car. There were no injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
