Portsmouth, Va. - A Virginia Beach woman was driving home from work when her commute took a frightening turn. Someone threw a rock at her windshield from an overpass.
Nancy Paskel was driving on Frederick Blvd. in Portsmouth getting ready to turn onto Interstate 264 East when the rock shattered her windshield.
State Police at the scene told her it was likely someone threw the rock off of the overpass. Although the windshield needs to be replaced, police consider her lucky since the rock could have severely injured her or even killed her.
"All of a sudden, there was this really loud noise, almost like a gunshot," explained Paskel. "Before I knew it, the entire windshield was completely shattered."
State Police told Paskel that they have no suspects but say that incidents like this happen often. If you know anything about this crime or any others, take action and call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
