Newport News, Va. – A 61-year-old man was killed in Newport News on Thursday night after he was hit by a CSX Train.
Officials say they received a call about the incident at 6:10 p.m.
The incident happened under the J. Clyde Morris Boulevard overpass.
Police and medics found a man dead at the scene.
Witnesses say the man was standing next to the tracks and stepped into the path of the train.
A medical examiner says the man committed suicide.
