Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect; Minor flooding possible through mid-week

Norfolk, Va. – The National Weather Service has issued another Coastal Flood Advisory that affects most of the area.

Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Isle of Wight County, Surry County, Accomack County, Northampton County, and Currituck County are all under the advisory until 11:00 p.m. Monday night.

Newport News, Hampton, Poquoson, James City County, York County, Mathews County, Middlesex County, and Gloucester County are all under the advisory until 1:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Minor coastal flooding is expected during high tide hours — approximately 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. today.

There is also a high risk for rip currents and high surf at all area beaches.
