Patrick’s forecast: Plenty of rain before Tropical Storm Joaquin even gets here

Be VIPIR Ready for a soggy mess on the way.

It looks like tropical storm Joaquin is going to join forces with another storm system to bring us a one-two punch of rain and flooding late in the work week and into the weekend.

A stationary front to our west is acting like an interstate highway for moisture. That will bring us showers and thunderstorms over the next few days, producing heavy downpours from time to time.

Tropical Storm Joaquin is expected to join forces with that system providing us even more rain which could cause flooding. Plus, the flow around Joaquin could add to the threat of tidal flooding Friday and Saturday.

It's a complicated setup and a lot could change between now and then.
