Richmond, Va. – Several alerts were sent out Friday morning by Virginia Commonwealth University about multiple reports that an armed person had been spotted on the Monroe Park campus in downtown Richmond.
Police described the person as a male, wearing a square military-style hat and backpack
“Avoid the area,” the alert indicated. “VCU Police on scene.”
However, police say after searching the area, they were unable to confirm the information. VCU Police say they are continuing to monitor the area.
Normal activity has resumed.
