Woman killed in crash on Rt. 58 in Suffolk identified

Suffolk, Va. – A woman has died as a result of a crash that occurred in the 6200 block of Holland Road/Route 58 in Suffolk around 6:30 a.m. Friday morning.

The woman was driving a Mercedes Benz SUV and was attempting to travel westbound after leaving a service station. Her vehicle was hit on the driver’s side by a Jeep Wrangler traveling eastbound.

She was pronounced deceased at the scene. She has been identified as 63-year-old Clayretta C. Wilson of Chesapeake.

The driver of the Jeep Wrangler, an adult male, was transported to Sentara Obici Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.

Suffolk Public Works crews, Suffolk Police, and Suffolk Fire & Rescue are currently still on the scene.

Traffic is being alternated due to a portion of the road being closed. The closure is expected to last several hours.
