Sussex County, Va. – A single vehicle crash in Sussex County led to the death of a Maryland man.
Virginia State Police were called to the scene of an accident on Interstate 95 at around 8:40 a.m. on October 12.
The driver ran his 2001 Chevy Tahoe off of the road and over corrected. The car was overturned and he was trapped inside of the car.
The driver, 51-year-old Anthony Jackson Roland, was taken to Southside Hospital in Petersburg, Virginia. He died from his injuries.
Police say Roland was originally from Capital Heights, Maryland.
The passenger of the car, Leonard Bellamy, had no injuries.
Both people in the car were wearing seat belts. Neither alcohol nor speed were factors.
