CLARKSVILLE, Tennessee — The wedding can wait! A Tennessee bride’s paramedic instincts kicked in on the way to her wedding reception last week. Sara Ray showed up at a crash scene, wearing her wedding dress, when a driver ran a red light and hit her grandparents’ car.

“I went in there to check up on and see what she was doing and she was upset that she had ruined my day and I told her that it wasn’t her fault,” Ray said. “I don’t know if what I did was special – I was making sure my grandma was OK and I just happened to be in a wedding dress.”

Ray’s mother took photos of her daughter as she walked away from the rainy crash scene.

“I love this photo because it shows her true character,” mother Marcy Martin said.

While Ray’s 72-year-old grandmother was taken to the hospital for treatment, the bride and her husband (who is also a paramedic) continued on to the reception.

“As long as she was ok then she was fine with me going back,” Ray said.
