Newport News, Va. – Holly McPherson with Newport News Police advises that Warwick Boulevard from Mercury Boulevard to 73rd Street is closed while crews repair a power line that was significantly damaged during a single-vehicle accident Saturday morning.

Around 11:20 a.m., dispatchers received notification of a car crash at 73rd and Warwick Boulevard. Upon arrival, crews found a Honda Accord smashed against a power pole.
Le-Ha Anderson with Dominion Virginia Power tells us that no customers are without power as a result of this crash. She says they will have to replace the power pole, but service will not be interrupted.
The driver, a 60-year-old woman, was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening head and facial injuries .
