NEW YORK (CNN) — A New York Police Department officer was shot and critically wounded Tuesday evening, several law enforcement officials said.
The officer had been responding to a report of shots fired in East Harlem, the officials said.
A man believed to be a suspect was hospitalized with unknown injuries.
