Hampton, Virginia - A man is in critical condition after he was shot multiple times shortly before 1:00 a.m. Friday morning, according to police.
Police responded to a shots fired call in the 200 block of Wells Court in Hampton where they found the man. The man was taken to a local hospital for treatment. His injuries do not appear to be life threatening.
No arrest has been made at this time.
"I hope they get to the bottom of it," says a neighbor, George Riley.
A woman tells NewsChannel 3 that she heard three to four gunshots. She also says she saw a man limping down the sidewalk.
Those who live at the Hampton Club, a gated community, were shocked to hear about the violence.
"That's very unusual for stuff like that to be happening," says Riley.
The motives and circumstances surrounding this shooting remain under investigation.
