Man accused of killing sailor and wounding two female students near ODU arrested in Maryland

Norfolk, Va. – Police say they have now arrested a man who is charged in the shooting death of a seaman, 26-year-old Keith Lendore. He is also accused of shooting two female students.

They’ve charged 20-year-old Christian Williams-Rivera with second-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and malicious wounding.

This happened during ODU’s homecoming weekend on October 17th.

Police say just hours after two men were shot at one party near Hampton Boulevard and 40th Street, Lendore and two more ODU students were shot outside of another party on 37th and Killam Avenue.

The two women who were shot suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Lendore was found lying on the ground. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police followed leads all the way up to Washington County, Maryland and charged Rivera.

He was arrested on October 27th at 1 p.m.

Rivera is now being held in the Washington County Detention Center pending extradition to Virginia.
