Virginia Beach, Virginia – Virginia State Police and Virginia Beach Police are looking for a person they say led state police on a chase early Tuesday morning.

Police say a state trooper attempted to stop a silver Volkswagen for a suspected DUI in Virginia Beach on 264 eastbound east of Witchduck around 1:30am.

The driver refused to stop and tried to hit the trooper’s vehicle several times, according to police.

The driver took the London Bridge exit and the trooper terminated the pursuit.

Virginia Beach Police was notified.

A short time later, the trooper located the Volkswagen, abandoned, in the 200 block of Sykes Road.

State Police and a Virginia Beach Police K-9 officer searched the area.

This incident remains under investigation.
