Chesapeake, Va. – A family of five has to find a new place to live after their home went up in flames on Friday.
The fire occurred in the Deep Creek section of the city in the 1400 block of Shady Tree Way.
Firefighters were called out to the scene at 6:54 p.m.
When they arrived, they found heavy smoke coming from the two-story home.
Firefighters contained the fire to the kitchen, but smoke damaged the rest of the home.
The cause of the fire was cooking related officials say.
No one was injured.
The family has made arrangements for lodging.
