New York, NY. -Say it’s not so!

H&M has joined with other major retail stores and will close all of its US stores on Thanksgiving Day. This move comes as the company aims to give employees time with their families.

This will be the first time H&M will close all stores.

“H&M would like to show our appreciation to our employees for their hard work year round, so in the tradition of Thanksgiving, H&M will close our U.S. stores on Thanksgiving Day, allowing our store teams to enjoy this time with their families and friends,” Daniel Kulle, president of H&M North America, said in a statement.

The number of retailers closing on Thanksgiving continues to grow. So far Costco, Nordstrom and BJ’s says they will keep their doors closed on the turkey holiday.

Thanksgiving falls on Thursday, Nov. 26 this year.
