UPDATE: Police have now identified the victim in this case.
He was 79-year-old Billy Lewis Gillion of the 3500 block of Argonne Avenue. He was hit after police say he walked in the street.
No charges have been filed against the driver.
Norfolk, Va. - A man was killed on Tuesday night after he was hit by a vehicle in Norfolk.
The accident happened in the 2800 block of Cromwell Road. Calls came in at 6 p.m.
When first responders arrived on the scene, they saw a man lying in the street. He was unconscious and had injuries. He was then taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
No one has been charged in this incident.
Police have closed 2800-3300 blocks of Cromwell Drive while they continue to investigate the cause of this accident.
The victim's identity is being withheld pending notification to the next of kin.
