Norfolk, Va. – A teenager was hit by a vehicle at the intersection of Brambleton Avenue and Reservoir Avenue in Norfolk, according to Norfolk Police dispatchers.

Police responded to the call around 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

When officers arrived at the scene, the teen was alert and conscious and claimed to have been hit by the side mirror of the car.

The driver of the car stayed at the scene while medics arrived and cooperated with officers. The teen was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for an evaluation.

Investigators say the teenager steeped into the street into oncoming traffic and was accidentally struck by the car.

Authorities say the driver was not at fault and will not be charged for the incident.  The teen has not been charged with any offenses at this time.
