Elizabeth City, N.C. – A man accused of breaking into a house and stealing valuable items has been arrested and will have his first appearance in court on Thursday.

The Pasquotank County Sheriff’s Office says Earl Wallace Jeffers, III stole jewelry, electronics and firearms from an Elizabeth City home on the evening of November 15.

Investigators discovered that Jeffers pawned the stolen items at Chauncey’s Pawn Shop.

Jeffers has been associated with many break-ins in the Elizabeth City area, according to officials.

After identifying Jeffers as the suspect, officers found him at a Comfort Inn hiding out under a different name.

Jeffers was charged with breaking and entering, felonious larceny, larceny of a firearm, and possessions of a firearm by a felon.

Jeffers was taken to Albemarle District Jail where he was held on a $108,000 bond.
